Curve text Inkscape tutorial: Type text
First of all go to the “A” tool and type out the desired text. If you wish to change the text click on the “T” tool at the top menu.
How to curve text Inkscape tutorial: Cut path
Now we will create the path for the text to follow.
First of all select the square tool and draw a square. Use stroke with of 10 px and no fill. Select the circle tool and also while dragging out a circle press shift+ctrl to make a perfect circle.
Select both the circle and the square. Finally go to path-cut path. Delete the bottom portion of the circle.
Adjust the text
Change the text size by going to the “A” tool to open the menu at the top bar. While the text is selected, adjust the text to 32 px and also toggle the hamburger menu to “centered text”.

Text on a path
Firstly select the text and also select the stroke path. Secondly go to text-put on path. Easy, right?
This next part is optional, but really handy for things like badge design.
Triple click your text. at the top bar notice vertical kerning. Set it to a negative value to move the text upwards. Positive value to move the text down.
