Pixabay and Unsplash are a great source of free images. This tutorial uses a colourful Kingfisher bird. Turning it into a vector requires a bit of finesse and technique. Depending on the photo you have chosen, you may need to play around with the settings a bit to get the image how you like it. However it is easily learned and applied to various other photos. Vectors are important to use in graphic design because they do not pixelate. They can also be scaled very large or small with no loss in quality. There are so many reasons for using vector format rather than raster. This method is absolutely free!
Saving the final vector to your computer is a s easy as going to File--> Export PNG. Then in the dialogue box choose Content. Voila! You are finished the project.
